In 1841, my great-great-great-great grandmother left her home in Northwest Ohio to gather hickory nuts and never returned. Through crime reports, maps and interviews, details have emerged but her disappearance remains a mystery. While this event serves as the point of departure for the project, I am creating a fictional story centered on the themes of longing and renewal. Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of passing on family stories through textiles, this film will be made entirely from animated woven cloth.
